Interesting reading fire**fly :) I've never thought of it having to do with reducing traffic accidents etc. As for the bloke who thought of it while horse riding....I'm sure I would prefer the extra hour in bed than out horse riding! :D

Have a great time tomorrow Sheils :) Will you be doing all the floors of Primark? :D

Does anyone save with Park for hampers or vouchers? I'm wondering if they do direct debit scheme as I'm thinking ahead for next yr.

lol, tbh I always thought it was to do with the war wingo!!

Thanks again all. Not heading off until 10am as DD's boyfriend on call for fire brigade until then. Hoping to go to the Tower Circus at 4pm or 7pm and maybe have some fish and chips. I'm not going to Primark wingo! DD not as keen on it now either, as she has got older and earning more she prefers some of the more expensive shops although does go for things in the sales. Have booked Bella Italia for tomorrow night though as have Tesco Tokens to spend there and it is DDs favourite. Will be back on Tuesday afternoon as both DD and BF are working at 4.30pm.
Hope everyone has a lovely few days and is lucky.

    Hi All

I was always told the clocks change because of the farmers. Interesting fact FF thanks.

    Have a nice time Sheils.

Sunday my favourite day of the week. We are going out for a ride in the car today. Only about an hour west, we'd like to live in a smaller village and my DH is expecting a work transfer to come through in about 6 months so we are going to have a proper look around to see whats around for little one. Will stop for Sunday lunch and find a park for DD.

    Have a lovely day all

    Xx
    Let's be happy!!

FireFly thanks for the link very interesting. DH and I were wondering if it was next weekend.

Sheils so pleased meeting went well. Enjoy your visit to Blackpool.

Kitten hope you have a great day out.

Wingo had to smile at DD thinking you had phoned ahead.

Yesterday DD1 brought son around in the afternoon. She's not been well with respiratory virus for weeks but still working. Idea was to leave GS here for a few hours and DH would take him home. When the time came GS wanted to know why he was being taken home. He wanted to stay here! In the end that's what happened he went to sleep singing and woke up singing. He has not told us much about school.
    Sun just coming out here.
Better sign off. Have good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, hope you are all OK today. The weather is dull here.

Talking about BST etc, thanks for the artice firefly, found it a bit hard to read as there were lots of adverts coming up LOL. Was talking to DH about it and I felt sure that at some time I could remember them not changing it back in the Autumn so had a look and found this:-

    Permanent summer, 1968–71

In 1968, the clocks went forward as usual in March, but in the autumn, they did not return to Greenwich Mean Time. Britain had entered a three-year experiment, confusingly called British Standard Time, and stayed one hour ahead of Greenwich until 1971.
This was not the first experiment to shift the clocks in winter. In the Second World War (1939-45), Britain had adopted Double British Summer Time, with the clocks one hour ahead of Greenwich in winter and two hours ahead in summer.
When the British Standard Time experiment ended, the Home Office carried out an exhaustive review to find out whether it had been successful. The answer was both yes and no. There were ‘pros and cons’ to having the clocks forward and, on balance, the Government decided to return to the original British Summer Time.

Its a quote from http://www.rmg.co.uk/explore/astronomy-and-time/time-facts/spring-forward-100-years-of-british-summer-time (sorry not good at links)

Did your DD win at gymnastics Wingo. LOL at the Kentucky thing.

That was nice having your GS to stay leanfun.

Hope you have a lovely trip Sheils.

Must get on as family coming for lunch, have made a Shepherd's Pie and veg for them.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

your evening meal sounds lovely firefly. Thought you might find the article good as well. I expect it will make it easier for you when the clocks go back next week.

Lunch went OK and DD and I went out for a bit of peace and had a coffee while SIL took the GK's out to the park. DS is coming on the train from Leeds tomorrow as he has a few days off and his wife has to work so it will be nice to see him.

Hope you have all had a lovely day. Enjoy your evening.
