IE11 - partially broken

Getting loads of random
  • this page can’t be displayed
  • oops! internet explorer could not connect
  • broken links and missing images
Sometimes a site loads, sometimes it doesn't.

When I load the same page on Chrome, its fine.

This started about a week ago and its very annoying now.

Any thoughts as to how I can resolve this?

thanks

I've only got IE9, but assuming it's similar, go to Internet Options/Advanced and click reset. That might fix it.
  • Scrap it and download Firefox or Chrome, IE is past repairable now completely knackered software fit for the bin.

I dare say it's because IE 11 does wait a relatively (compared to other browsers) short amount of time for pages and content to load, before assuming there's a problem, and webpages these days have to pass through your ISPs censorship filters.

Also if IE has "enhanced protection mode" turned on, turning this off may speed things up a bit.

All this digital nannying slows everything down a small amount and it all adds up.

Check that you've got the latest Microsoft updates. There were two extra ones released this month after the usual scheduled ones on the second Tuesday of the month. I think both dealt with issues in IE11.

Guess what? Your system already has the latest version installed!

Its only been a problem for a couple of weeks or so. Plus there are a billion or so others out there with IE not reporting such problems.

Its speed was fine until a couple of weeks ago. I don't find it any faster or slower than Chrome.

Thanks Laz123 - Ive run sfc. It says.......

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.log.
