  • I had Incredimail, and it slowed my laptop right down, i had to get rid of it in the end.
I also did a virus scan after i got rid of the program, and found 4 Trojan programs.
That is my awful experiance of Incredimail!

It was full of spyware etc when I last had the misfortune to remove it from a PC. I know people that use it though and they seem to like it. Don't know the current status of it and don't really want to install it just to find out ;)

I've been using it for years and never had a problem with them. I also never get popups. I find Incredimail lots of fun.

I remember advertising coming with the free version. Don't remember having any serious problem with it. Though it was a long time ago that I used it.
  • Think of the poor sods who are going to be on the receiving end of your emails.

I had a colleague a few years ago who started using Incredimail, and I got sick of having to download bloated emails full of daft animated smiley faces, which then wouldn't render properly in my email client and were totally unreadable.

Carey's Response: IncrediMail places Spyware on your computer. If you want something just as good, and no Spyware and no pop-ups, and no Ads, try www.my.myway.com. I strongly suggest you un-install IncrediMail and do not use it in the future.
If you want to stick with IncrediMail, you'll need to contact them directly at: http://www.incredimail.com/english/contact.html.
If you purchased any products from them, they will give you free technical support. If the product was free, I have to go back to my last recommendation to remove it from your system. Most people find the animations and backgrounds annoying and they selfishly occupy 5-6 times as much space (or more) in your recipients e-mail box. Since most people have a very limited space for e-mail, it's a bit inconsiderate to use these cartoons and such as they are not necessary to the communication of the message you are trying to convey to the other person.

I've been using the free Incredimail for about 3 years now, not noticed any problems.

I particularly like the fact that you can 'bounce' spam messages back.

Is there any other email software that has a 'bounce' facility?

I didn't know it planted spyware on your PC though, How do you know its Incredimail doing it and not something else?

Surely by " bouncing " email you are only letting the sender know that they have hit a legitimate email address, so they will just send more and add you to their priority lists.

It sends them an 'email faliure' type message, so hopefully they think my email doesn't work..
