As they changed the week to later after the snow 3 or 4 years back !
Good luck to you all , and yes certain stores who do well in the sale get stock sent in , they can't wait to get rid of it so they can get sun tan lotion out !
The store manger helped me take my bags to my car once and told me all this! But I don't know date sure , that's just my guess

Does anybody know what stock is like in lakeside wondering if it's worth me traveling there as my local dosent gave much left at all

Twice in the last week the staff in my local store have told me that the 70% off will start at the end of the month. I said I've heard it will be the 14th? She said no it's the end of the month. I said well we'll see won't we come Wed 14th.
I'll make a point of asking the staff on Tuesday what time the store is opening on the Wednesday and if it's 8am instead of 8.30 then I'll know for sure. Last year I turned up at 8.30 and there wasn't much left - people had loads of those blue bags full of stuff. I've been told on several occasions that you're not allowed more than 6 of any one item in the clearance - let's see what they do in the sale as it would appear the rules they have for me don't apply to anyone else in the sale. I'm always being trouted!!!!! :mad:

There are a few rumours around to this effect, including that Boots warehouse staff have been told that they all have to work that day (thanks Spudnik @hukd), but we don't have anything more solid yet."

If the warehouse staff have to work that day then it would be the day after when the sale starts. No point in having all the warehouse staff in if all the stock is in the shops.

No I remember last year the Warehouse stock staff were told the same thing. This was for the online orders.
I also remember being told that extra staff would be in on the 70% sale also and some weren't happy about having to go in.


The 70% sale has NEVER been at the end of them month, so the staff who told told you that catswiththumbs are trying to fob you off IMO. Staff are also told they are not allowed to tell customers when the 70% sale is until closer to the time, infact a girl I know who used to work in Boots said they weren't told until the start of the week when the signs had to be changed etc. or when the staff rota would be getting done.

Do they usually open earlier for the 70% off sale? Our local Boots usually opens at 8.30am

If they need extra staff in stores then the staff will know now as the Boots working week starts on a Sunday, so they would know now if they are if for overtime on Wednesday.

Which ever way my local store has very little left, Dove and some Orange Soap and Glory, so not much to sing and dance about.
