Whatever Wednesday it's on I am expecting slim pickings in our branch this time. Went in yesterday for some make up and there is very, very little left from the 50% sale. Nor is there much shelf space to accomodate any extra items for a 70% sale. This is disappointing as I have always managed to get loads of stuff for my Xmas and birthday stash.

Sounds just like our local store. Out of 10 sets of shelves, 5 now have sun cream on, one has clearance junk and one has miniature shampoo on. Just three sets left mostly Dove, and that was a couple of days ago.

Same as Stratford Upon Avon (both Maybird and town centre stores) they are pretty much empty now. Loads of perfume sets left and afew other bits and bobs but all the good stuff is gone now. Can't see there being much left for the 70% off sale

so is Halifax I went in yesterday and just 2 small rows of shelves and not much worth getting either - just one No 7 large box left which I would like but am sure it will be gone before the sale - also stocking surrounding shelving up for summer stuff - maybe at long last Boots have realised they have bought too much xmas goodies

Re the toys I seem to remember that they didnt come down when the sale when to 70% last year so double check before you buy

70% reductions WILL be the 14th not 21st.

I know some years it's borderline depending on if Christmas day falls on a Wednesday or not but otherwise it's always the third Wednesday after Christmas.
Boots will want to get rid of the stock as much as we want to buy it and aren't likely to want to trip us up as they want shut of it.
Nobody is going to buy much else at half price as it doesn't work out that much cheaper than the 3for2 deal before Christmas.

21st January is too late... A lot of high street retailers have already cleared their Christmas leftovers and those that haven't will be reducing heavily to get shut of it this weekend or next week.
They'll want to get their stores looking fresh for the new season stock.

Last year our local branch were told to ship all their sale stock back to the warehouse and got a tiny amount of tat shipped to them from Shetland to put on sale! Looking likely it will be flagship stores with decent sale stock... Or are they going to try online only again?

Not much in the Brighton North Street store but loads left in the Tunbridge Wells store when I went to visit a friend on Wednesday!

It's not really worth bothering with the smaller stores as all the stock gets shpped to the larger stores where they know they will shift the stock.

Website is too hit and miss too; just make sure you're at a larger store but get there early.

Hope everyone gets what they're hoping for....

I don't think the stuff gets shipped anywhere, it is just they start with less range before Christmas and there fore have less when 50% sale starts and even less when it gets reduced.

My local store is down to two sections of shelving, so about 8 shelves in total, they have more stuff in their clearance which looks like stuff they no longer stock or have had returned but don't stock. Some decent reductions in them, an electric toothbrush down from £100 to £40
