Taping and Jointing TE Plasterboard wall - what size beading???

    That is the correct external corner tape for jointing,it is normal tape with reinforced metal edges.You can use thin set plaster beads but will need more building out



    No. it's for reveals, ie, internal corners surely?


    Why would anyone want an external corner that doesn't have a continual steel bead edge. Tapes don't cut it

    I accept that it may seem unprofessional, but I have used a 90 degree ramin moulding, or similar, in this situation before. This saves messing around with tapes, and makes a robust corner - ideal if it is vulnerable, or if there are occupants who bash the place about.

    It has also meant I could roughly butt two bits of plasterboard up to a corner and hide my rough edges - hence no need for TE plasterboard.

    That's what they did in the 30's, 'cept they simply ran a 3/8th dowel up the corners.

    Effective, rubust and still looks fine today if done throughout
