delays on both interconnecting flights

Hi all
Does flight compensation work on individual flights or the booking itself.
Had a booking of LBA-LHR-JFK but weather cancelled LBA and was transferred to MAN. There was a 5 hour delay to LHR which meant no flights out that night.
Retickets on the next morning LHR - JFK flight which was then delayed by 11 hours. Reticketed onto an earlier flight that left 6 hours after the initial reticketed flight (and 22 hours to the original intention LHR-JFK flight) which was then delayed 2 hours.
Nightmare journey and hoping for some decent compensation!
Any help would be much appreciated.

your journey was from LBA-JFK so it is one journey and one claim however, as you will see when you read the FAQs, as the delay was caused by weather, there is no EU compensation as weather is outside of the airlines control so you would be looking to your travel insurance to see what they offer for that length of delay
Have a look at Vaubans guide (last link in the "Read this before posting" sticky) and post on the relevant airline's thread if you have further questions not answered in the guide0 -
Don't know - quite complicated. No definitive answer I suspect.0
