vodafone chaos. do i need to give 30 days?

ive just got off the phone after spending ages trying to get a pac code and give 30 days notice. the assistant said I don't need to give 30 days notice? he said I can use the pac code straight away?

my contract dosent end until the 19th of January.

also on a side note I complained about them sending 2 emails with temporary passwords and the username to someone I don't even know, and all I got was a call saying non of my information was in danger. when I said I would be talking to the ICO, she said she deals with them all the time and it was not a breach. so no written or email explantion as to why the emails were sent to the wrong address just shut up kind of attitude.

Comments

  • Use the PAC code or it expires and the contract will continue. 30 days notice is extinguished when you ask for a PAC code. One or the other so beware.
  • so as long as I wait until the 19th, which should still be within the 30 day limit of the pac code, before I use it they shouldn't charge me?

They will charge you until Jan 22 regardless of when you use the PAC, although most likely, part of this period was paid in advance.

And it's "PAC", not "PAC code".
  • don't believe ANYTHING any Vodafone employee tells you....if you haven't noticed yet....it's unlikely you will get the same answer from two different employees....in most cases you will get contradicting information

You can use the PAC straight away, you will pay for 30 days notice, whether you use the PAC on day 1 or day 29.

Given how little confidence you have in them and how you believe they lie to you etc etc it would seem a good idea to switch asap. People can have problems with any mobile company but you seem to be looking for one whether it exists or not.

If you have the time I can tell you about the problems...and as others on here can confirm they (Vodafone) seem to be pretty good at giving out conflicting information, which , in some cases have been outright lies...unfortunately I'm stuck with them for a while....but if they or indeed you aren't happy with my comments about them (all of which I can prove) perhaps you would like to buy me out of my contract?
