Another scam attempt today

Had a phone call today supposedly from Talktalk (my provider ).The guy on the other end asked for me by name then went on to describe...in the broadest Indian accent ever, had real difficulty understanding him...how my router was throwing up numerous errors at their end and that he would talk me thru fixing it if I turned my computer on.
As I was about to go to work I told him I couldn't but he was really insistent.
I told him to call back later and hung up.If he does I will be ready for him :)

I've had at least 4 different calls this week from "Microsoft Technical helpdesk" (or similar) -Indians called "George" or "Dave" -same sort of script - I've now got so bored of these attempted scams that I can't be bothered to play anymore -just tell them I haven't got a PC or laptop - the interesting thing is that at least two have apologised for wasting my time......and wished me a happy Xmas:rotfl:

I have fun with these (don't get many) when I have time.

Somewhere , on here, there is a link to an hilarious Youtube video, that someone made while winding them up. (Actually a recording of the call with the person re-acting the scene for filming, but that doesn't matter).

    I haven't had one for a while.
The last one I asked for details so that I could pass it to my PC support team.
Other times I try and wind them up; if I can get them to swear at me then I award myself bonus points!

It's amusing to play the complete novice, who isn't even sure whether the mains lead is needed for a laptop. They must get quite excited about such an easy catch.
