LL I think that is a perfect way to mark the day, as Rummer said. I hope you have a lovely toast to DH tonight.
Got my top braces on today, which was a surprise, I thought I was only going in for brackets on my back teeth but they said they could fit me in! Feels weird, and probably looks weirder but I'm sure I'll get used to it.No more goo hoarding!

Puddle. Lovely to see you de lurking. I can well understand your wobble at Heathrow, it took me all my time to pick up the phone to just even book the holiday. And great news that you enjoy your tours so much. Imthink I'll be fine, it's just taking those firSt feŵ steps isn't it.
Floss - it's the Cruise and Maritime line, the ship is the Magellan, apparently a relatively small ship. The PO And Cunard ones looked vast and I felt I perhaps something smaller would be less intimidating.
That's interesting about the discounts, the girl did say she would put me on the mailing list for offers in the future so as you say South America might not be such a pipe dream one day. I shall start saving my pennies......
My dear Aunty S was a regular cruiser and I know the agents used to ring her up with some amazing last minute bargains.
There are so many fabulous places in the world to visit and the price of the holidays isn't totally out of reach its just the single supplements which whack up the cost, some can be as much as 100 per cent.
Well ive had a thoroughly lazy slothful day. I just hope I don't dissolve whilst we are out and that I can hold it together.
Ps the Fabbing journey starts in earnest tomorrow. Ive looked up SW club venues and I'm going to join up........0 -
LL congratulations that is wonderful news... What a fabulous salute to your OH!! I hope you have a fabulous night with family... Raising a glass as you say
This trip will give you time away to plan and reboot so to speak. Exciting times ahead and lots to look forward too
I have started today trying much healthier eating although I need to be more prepared! I seen a picture that was take off me from behind that's week and I nearly cried!! What on earth has happened... I need to get on top of this- my sleep - and generally fabbing.. I am just so bloody tired all the time. Taking a general vitamin & some co-q10 & evening primrose oil.
It's the actual leaving the house - I wish I looked more pulled together. Still working 6 days so pull myself out of bed- not bothered with make up etc. I wish I could get myself back to the gym. I hoped the Summer and bright days would kick start me along but it's been so poor in Scotland.. It looked like stormy weather today trees blowing wildly and rain. Hopefully eating better so help me find some energy....0 -
I got very wet on my cycle today
so in the interests of fabbing I am going to look into all weather cycling clothing and some good lights as it was dull as well as rainy.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Just catching up and popping on to say a big well done to lesson learned for booking that cruise :j - so pleased you've done it and have something lovely to look forward to.
Back later - just going to try to grab a bit more sleep; not ready to get up yet!0 -
LL - fab news about the cruise, sounds like a great holiday and good to have a little incentive to get even more fabulous before you go.
I've been on a number of holidays on my own over the years as I've been single more than I have had boyfriends. Plus my boyfriends don't enjoy everything I do so I sometimes go away without them.
I've always met really nice people and one of my closest friends is someone I met when I was on holiday in 2009 and we've been on quite a few holidays together since.
I had a good day yesterday getting some running in with my trainer in the morning (we're trying to improve my pace - I am slow and steady at the moment) and my yin yoga class in the evening.
Oh, and I finally got the courage to let my cleaner go. She's a sweetheart but she's allergic to almost everything including most cleaning products so the house isn't that clean after she's been and I have to remember to empty the vacuum cleaner for her because it makes her sneeze. I did fib and say it was because I needed to economise as I'd had to spend a lot on plumbing issues - she didn't seem to mind anyway - she quit her old job due to health issues and has been dabbling with lots of different things - and my house was the only one she cleaned now (wonder why!).
Today I am planning to do my fitsteps class at lunchtime and run in the evening. Also will have time to Kondo my t-shirts which is the last of my big drawers to do (trousers & jeans got done yesterday), then it will be my tights to do and time to move onto the wardrobes.0 -

That's a great idea rummer. There is the saying that there's no such thing as the wrong weather only the wrong clothes. If you treat yourself to the gear then you're more likely to keep going through the autumn and winter.
Hope last night's meal went OK LL. Is this a really long cruise you're planning? I saw one advertised this morning from Tilbury that lasts almost a month. I'd second what you said about escorted holidays puddle. DH and I have been on two and friends and family on many others. There were single travellers on both and everyone mixed really well. I think it helps that you automatically have things in common because you've chosen the itineraries.
I'm planning a bit more Kondo today too indie. I want to move some paperwork into the study to free up room for boardgames in a drawer in the dining room (currently in a basket under a chair:o). I think you did the right thing asking the cleaner to leave. Now you're taking unpaid leave was a logical time, white lies are definitely appropriate in those circumstances.
Hope you're getting on OK with the new brace pq.
I'm definitely getting into this 'does it spark joy?' frame of mind. I'm not going all soppy and conducting ceremonies on bits of porcelain leaving the housebut definitely being a bit more analytical as to why I'm keeping/wearing things. And I'm still keeping up my people watching experiments. I looked around my dance class (Scottish, so mostly everyone in summer skirts and dresses) and asked myself whether there was anyone wearing an outfit I'd have been happier in than what I was wearing myself. Answer was no, a few were OK at a push some I wouldn't have been dead in! :rotfl:
Sun threatening to come out here.:)0 -
Just a quickie to say good morning
Had a lovely evening, with my boys and friends. We chatted and reminisced and talked about future plans. So a nice time, my friends husband was teasing me about my new adventures, saying they had to vet any men who came into my life. As if.......:rotfl: I didn't take offence because I know it's all done with love and affection.
Yes it's a nice long cruise, 33 days, starting from 7th November, and departing from Tilbury, so it sounds like the one you've spotted.
I really need to,try and learn how to post links, DS2 keeps showing me but I seem to have a blind spot.
Please don't tell me they reduced the price again......I'd rather not know......:rotfl I think I got a good price as I think it's not always the price of the holiday, more a case of how much they are charging for the single supplement.
Anyway must dash, DS2 and I are going To the cottage to clear the rubbish and do a couple of tip runs......Fun....

I am the slowest of my group of girls that I go out with - two are much quicker and one is marginally faster, and it would be nice to not hold the others up. Need to schedule a few more appointments to focus on this during August before my return to work in mid Sept.
Try some sprints Indie
Do a decent warm up and then do 3x 20 second sprints (give 100%, as fast as you can) with 2 mins gentle jogging/active walking in between each one. Don't stop completely or you might feel faint, be sure to keep moving. Then cool down and that's you done for the day. Try to do it 3x a week. I think it's about 4-6 weeks (depending on the person) before you stop seeing significant gains because your body works out what is going on and finds ways to cheat but my view is then I'll switch to a different exercise0 -

Just popped on quickly again and this really made me laugh - definitely brought me joy reading it, maman
Think I'm ready to be a bit more open minded about Kondoing than I was before - I'll have another go at reading the book soon.
Sorry for the rushed posts - hectic couple of days - will post properly later - hugs to all x0
