Glad you had a good time chanie.
Another vote for a good bra here too. I can get to a small independent lingerie shop or an independent small department store locally and they're excellent at measuring. Because I know my proper size I check every time in TKMaxx. You still need to try them on though because even the right size doesn't always suit.
Nails sound really glam indie. Fingers crossed for some sun.:)
I wore my new jacket tonight and felt great. I definitely needed it coming home later on as it was chilly.
I do need new shoes. I'm fine for heels, ballet flats and boots with heels but when I've got a fair bit of walking to do (like a day's sightseeing or walking a couple of miles to the local shops instead of taking the car) then all I have is my Sketchers. The ones I've got are similar to these

They're incredibly light and comfortable but with a bit of support too but mine are getting old now. I'm thinking buy another pair or some flat boots or.....Any ideas?0 -

For something comfortable to potter about in I like Hotter shoes. I've been living in these (but in white):-

They do lots of similarish styles (i.e. flat with straps) and some a bit more like your sketchers too (i.e. light fabric rather than leather), got a decent sale on at the moment too. They have really cushioned insoles and they wear pretty well.
In the winter I lived in their Pixie boots, which are possibly the most comfortable thing I have ever owned. Cosy and like living in a supportive pair of slippers (but a little bit smarter!)

Happy fab Friday everyone! I'm feeling really good today, the sun is out and it's Friday!
Last night I had a nice long bath with hair mask and face mask. This morning I woke up early so took the time to curl my hair and spent some extra time on my make up, so I feel fab! I also ordered the Red Carpet Manicure kit which should arrive today so I am looking forward to giving myself a manicure (and f I'm feeling ambitious a pedicure too!) tonight. No more goo hoarding!

Hi all.
Typed a really long post earlier replying to everyone, etc., only to be logged out and the post to vanish!
Then when I tried to log back in, I'd been blocked!!! Goodness knows what happened there!
No time to retype it all so I'll just wish you all a fab Friday x0 -
Happy Fab Friday
Im a fraud today, i look a right mess.
I'm covered in paint, have just done two walls, having a break now and then will do a bit more, later I intend to light the chimenea so I shall not bother with a bath until, later this evening.
I also need to get out and get dirty in the garden, repotting some containers so there doesn't seem much point in making much effort just yet.
I'll make up for it later and have a lovely long pampering bath, wine and candles might be involved.......;)0 -
I look dreadful too LL :rotfl: however I am clean and dressed for working hard in the home today.
This morning I went to the supermarket and stocked up on loads of fruit, veg and grains so lots of healthy food to enjoy this week. Now I am fabbing the living room and clearing out and reorganising the things that are staying. I even sorted out my yarn stash that is behind the couch
Once that room is done I will be moving onto the next and so the pattern will continue until the house has a semblance of order. We are considering what to focus on the house next. We are part way through decorating the hall so that will need to be finished.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Afternoon Everyone.
I've not posted for a while but still reading along everyday. I lost my healthy eating focus for a few weeks and have put a couple of pounds back on but still been fabbing. I shall have my monthly weigh in and measuring session tomorrow morning so shall see what the damage is. I started having too many treats - mainly bars of chocolate.
However, I have given myself a mini challenge for the school summer holidays and am doing 40 days sugar free - so no adding sugar to anything, no baking and definitely no sweets or chocolate. It's more for health than weight loss but hopefully losing a few more pounds will be a happy side effect.
I had my usual Yoga class this morning so was in exercise gear but have had a lie in the sun and then fabbed up for the rest of the day. I'm wearing white cropped jeans with a black jersey top - not too fitted to hide the extra couple of pounds. It has a draped neckline and short crocheted cotton lace cap sleeves. I'm wearing silver earrings and silver necklace with 3 coloured stones hanging down like traffic lights and white flat shoes. Hair is still looking good from the last cut and I seem to be mastering the art of keeping it looking smooth and bouncy. A friend is coming round tonight that I haven't seen for ages so I want to look good for that. I think I might suggest we go for a walk together if she is up for it to add to my step count for today.
It's really busy at work with it being school holidays so I've got extra hours there, plus am looking after DGD 2 days a week. DS and family are away on holiday next week so not only I am covering for that, I am also helping look after the new business DDiL opened at Easter so shall be pretty busy. At least it means if I am organized enough to pack up a healthy lunch each day I shall be able to avoid nibbles in my kitchen. I will also be able to fit in most of my exercise classes, though have had to give up my tennis class for the duration of the school holidays.
I am determined to get back to posting regularly as I am sure the falling by the wayside was linked to not posting so I shall update tomorrow with the first of the month statistics for my weight etc.
Have a good day everyone.

Wow, where does time go?! Somehow managed to totally fall out of the loop here. I had to go away on a work trip and had another day away with a mega early start here today. Frankly, I'm shattered, although I've been good about make up removal and all that. Not feeling overly fab, though...too tired!
Sounds like you've all been putting me to shame though, loads of good stuff going on. Got another really long day tomorrow and a long week next week but am making a point of taking Sunday off to get some time to myself and to spend on the house. Think the OH and I are going to take in a local classic car show to get out for a bit so let's hope the weather holds as well, and it's an excuse to dress up a little bit.0 -
Thanks for the Hotter link indie. I was wondering about the pixie boots or something similar. All the boots I have are smart with heels except for some fur lined walking boots which are great in cold weather but hardly glamorous.
I know what you mean about posts disappearing ellsbel. If you've got a lot to say it's sometimes better to cut and paste from Word. I think the site needs an overhaul and they're not very good at telling you when there are problems.
Lots of house fabbing going on. At last we've got a painter coming in next month after numerous delays. I know the neutral colours I want him to paint. I've chosen the new sofas
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S29033750/#/S29033745
We're getting these because they have washable covers. I don't think I could manage a light colour otherwise. We need a new fire. Current one is gas coal effect but years old and needs replacing. I'd considered a wood burner but probably too hot for the size of the room and wouldn't look right in our age of house. So I'm looking for a replacement for ours with ceramic individual coals and real flames. Then it comes to choosing new curtains and lampshades etc. I'll get there!
Good to see you rose, sounds like you've got a busy month coming up. I feel I'm still carrying the extra pounds I gained on holiday and it's getting to me. It's not much, it doesn't really show but I'm aware and I don't like it.
Didn't help the situation by going out to lunch today. Went shopping with DD2 and ended up having Italian. Wine was consumed along with too much bread and pasta but it's over now and can get back to healthy eating. I like eating out but more and more I'm aware that it's hard to eat healthily. OK maybe if you want low carb but so many fats in all the cheeses and dressings.
I did fab Friday but very plain. Black jeans, white White Stuff top (looks good for once against my tan), silver ballet flats and sunglasses. I fancied a cuddly, fleecy jacket with a hood in Primark but DH starting making Baa! Baa! noises and said I looked like Shaun the Sheep:D. I might still go and get it though as it was fun and at £23 I wouldn't have to wear it much to get my money's worth.
For once we've had a lovely sunny summer's day. Its 20 degrees even now (which is probably as hot as it's been since we got back from Turkey) and it may even stay nice over the weekend:T.0 -

I know what you mean - hiking boots are very practical but stylish.... not so much. I only wear mine if hiking rather than walking on pavements or if there's snow on the ground.
I've walked a fair few miles along seafronts etc in my pixies and they've been very comfortable. I've got the greeny/blue ones as I wear a lot of that sort of colour. I had some other flat boots from them before that also got a lot of use but I think these are even more comfortable and better looking. I also own quite a few pairs of heeled boots, but only wear when I know I'll only be walking a mile or two in them. I just like to be comfortable, be nice to be stylish too, but if forced to choose, I am going to plump for comfort.
I always think the reason Victoria Beckham never seems to smile is her shoes. I look at her in photos and think "why so miserable? successful business, husband half the world seems to lust after, healthy children..." and then look at the cripplingly high shoes she's wearing and think "ah... it's pain". (I am aware this may well not be true...).
I've had a horrible wasted day. Plumber who was meant to come back and finish a job he started yesterday kept postponing and eventually cancelling with little explanation.
Called out another plumber in despair as had a blocked sink and bath which couldn't be unblocked with a plunger (which wasn't the case when the first plumber came out!) and he's found out the reason is the first plumber in fixing a leak has managed to connect the bath and sink waste so that they just run into each other and neither runs out.
Plumber no 1 is now due to come back tomorrow to fix his mess, meaning I've had to cancel my planned day out hiking, and I'd paid in advance for my share of the group ticket, so unless they manage to find someone to fill at short notice I will lose my money - though I've dropped strong hints the plumber should refund that, as well as the call out fee for plumber no 2 to diagnose the problem.
If plumber no 1 tries to charge me for any of his time tomorrow or doesn't fix properly or arrives late he will discover the full range of my temper. He charged through the nose for his work, so I expect top quality work.
Unfortunately fury doesn't do wonders for my control around food. I have no inclination to eat salad or vegetables now... think I'll be on the pizza tonight. Might even have an alcoholic drink or two... (I practically never drink at home alone).
Ho hum, hopefully will all be sorted by lunchtime tomorrow and I can enjoy Sunday - Tuesday with my boyfriend.0
