In which case the "chrome" option is more expensive than the other colours. This is quite common that less popular colours at sold at a cheaper price.0 -
Thanks to all, I have accepted the fact that even if an item is displayed at a specific price, there is no obligation by the retailer to sell at that price. I will still raise the issue with Customer Services so that they can get their labelling correct.0

Checking other prices for the model you stated the RRP is £290 and most online stores seem to be selling for around £279, so the pricing looks correct from the market0 -
I think you will be on a sticky wicket here. The item that you wanted - the chrome model was not actually on display - just a different coloured item with that item's price displayed. When you asked if they had the chrome in stock you were told that they had (but it was not on display) and you were told the price of that item. It is pretty well known that chrome items generally cost more than the more standard colours. You are really only going to be looking at good will here.0

....I would like to raise this formally with John Lewis Customer Service and need some help on what grounds I should have been sold that item at the lower price displayed....
You seem to have 'ran way' with assumption you should have been sold the item at the price displayed
You do not have to sell anything to anyone for what ever reason you like (except illegal discrimination) - even if you advertise it with a price
same applies to any retailer but if i show it as your right you'll find it easier to reason with/whyWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
