I thought the OP sounded a bit down on the whole house hunting experience, as shown by this interest in minor roof discolouration.

Most people know there are far more important things to focus on when purchasing a house. If it is of specific concern, then it's easily Googled.

It's like saying that the gear knobs on certain cars they've seen for sale are far too dull, or slippery. I'll leave others to imagine what kind of response a thread like that would receive in Motoring!

So, I wondered if the OP, perhaps fresh here from a less dank and dreary environment, might be suffering from SAD. After all, it affects many Brits, though not me, as I live and work in a place with big skies.

There you are: my hidden agenda. :)

First of all I thank you for your hidden agenduM :).

It was like "a storm in a cup of tea". It was just one observation that I wanted to bring here innocently. I was not aware that the observation would bring issues like chlorophyll, Oxygen production, asphalt, moss and above all" This is how we are, if you don't like it move out of Britain :)".

My hidden agenda is "I would love to see us open minded, open hearts and on top of all world".

Couldn't agree with you more. Happy Christmas one and all and for those who are waiting to hear the sound of reindeer hooves tonight don't reindeer eat moss?
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

No, that's lichen (although it mistakenly gets called moss). Or course, for the benefit of any children reading, they also love carrots.

You sure you don't mean pedant's corner??

And another thing, I always thought the plural of 'roof' was 'rooves' but it seems 'roofs' is the right word now. I blame all you yoofs or is it yooves :D?

I hesitate to divert this thread further. Rooves is acceptable but is becoming archaic, roofs being the preferred plural. This link

    Bums :D.

And, in this context, the correct spelling of 'pleural' is 'plural' :).
