I too am a mahoosive over-thinker. I've just bought the Chimp Paradox in the hope of solving myself. I've kind of started it (am also a chief procrastinator).
I take the tiniest of subjects and beat it to death with how/where/why/when, and a lot of it is hypothetical. As soon as my eyes are open in the morning, there I go, chattering away in my head.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -

I am a BIG over thinker, and have previously had CB therapy for depression which I had the middle of last year.
The CBT was given to me due to my depression however I would say that my over thinking and excessive worrying was a contributing factor to my depression, my over thinking made think the worst of everything and I couldn't see the good in anything (which was the depression talking).
The only reason I am saying this is because after having CB therapy it has helped with my over thinking - I have always been a worrier and my brain can constantly be in "thinking mode" which is horrible as this was making me unable to relax or switch off.
One thing I have learnt which other's have said is write down your worries and write down what the worst is that could happen and then work out what you would do in this situation, you will then see that you will still cope with this situation and for me it really puts my fears and worries in to perspective and I have now learnt to stop my excessive worrying as it really did make me ill and its a horrible feeling when it gets out of control.
If this is something that you have noticed why don't you pop along to your dr to see if they can refer you to some CBT after all if it helps you get some help and perspective on thinking, you will wonder why you didn't go sooner - I wish I had.
Lastly, I am also quite surprised how many people have been so honest and said they feel the same, I didn't realise there were many other like me!0
