Taxing an ex-Motability car whose taxation class is still 'Disabled'

Hi all,
At the weekend I bought a used car from a dealer, it is an ex-Motability car so the taxation class on the V5C is still 'Disabled'.
The dealer has the V5C and will be sending that off to DVLA, and I will then receive the new V5C with my details on it.
In the meantime I have the V5C/2 new keeper supplement, but when I put the reference number on that into https://www.taxdisc.service.gov.uk, it tells me that the taxation class is 'Disabled', and I should only proceed if I want to confirm that this is correct.
Obviously this is not correct, but I don't have the option to change it. I rung the DVLA just now to ask them what I should do, and the lady told me to fill out a V62 and take it to the Post Office. However, having looked at the V62, it says I should only use that if I haven't received my V5C in the post within 4 weeks after purchasing the car.
Any help/advice?! Thank you!

You need to change the tax class before you can tax it - so, yes, you need to do it more "manually" than normal.0

OK but I think I have a stumbling block in that I don't have a V5C at this point, nor do I have an MOT certificate for the car (the dealer said it wasn't included in the paperwork). The below, taken from https://www.gov.uk/change-vehicle-details-registration-certificate/what-evidence-to-give , seems to suggest I need both?0

I'm quite sure you can change the tax class with just the green slip as long as you do it within 4 weeks of purchase. Try the post office, but you might have to go to your local DVLA office if you have one.0

But you do have the V5C/2 green slip, yes?nor do I have an MOT certificate for the car (the dealer said it wasn't included in the paperwork).
Have you checked it HAS an MOT?

Yes, I have the V5C/2. And I also checked that it does have an MOT, and it does until 6 April 2015.
As someone above mentioned, all local DVLA offices are closed now. So should I try going to the Post Office with just my V5C/2 New Keeper Supplement and seeing if they can change my tax class and tax the vehicle at the same time?0 -
Shouldn't the dealer be doing this for you?0

Well I think when he sends off the V5C to DVLA, that will effectively be informing them of the change in taxation class - but I won't receive the new V5C for at least a couple of weeks.
And since the changes to vehicle tax came into force on 1st October, I need to tax it before then!0 -
Update: I've just had a duplicate MOT certificate issued from some online service (had to pay £10 for it though), have printed it off and it seems all OK. So will try going down to the Post Office with that and the V5C/2. Thanks for your help, will report back!
EDIT: in fact, just remembered that I've left the V5C/2 at home (d'oh!). So might have to wait until tomorrow. Unless anyone knows whether I can take a photocopy of the V5C/2 down to the Post Office? As I have a scanned copy in my email. Presumably they just need to scan the barcode, and if that doesn't work they should have some way of manually entering the numbers that correspond to the barcode?0
