Terminated TalkTalk contract

Hi all I hope you can help.
We terminated with TalkTalk to move to BT on the 3rd Dec and all went smoothly until now. TalkTalk have sent us a letter saying they tried to get hold of us via email (they haven't) re our bill and are now going to charge us for sending us paper bills.
I am slightly concerned as the only letter we had from TalkTalk was when they sent us the MAC code. The letter read if we do continue to terminate with TalkTalk we don't need to do anything further. We've had no other letter confirming our departure. Is this standard procedure?
Do I just sit tight and see if TalkTalk send us any further correspondence and try to bill us or should I send one back reminding them we departed services with them on the 3rd Dec?
Thank you.

Did you use the MAC to transfer to BT - if so this should stop the TT contract. If not, the cancellation may not have gone through. There may be a final bill due, so presuming you cancelled your DD then this will be due and they haven't been able to collect this.
You should still be able to log in to you TT bill account and email to check?
I still have an active TT email via webmail 2 years after leaving them0 -
hi, yes we used the MAC to transfer. We have tried to log on to the online TalkTalk account but it will not let us so we assumed that the account has been stopped. I did stop the DD as it has only been two weeks since I paid the previous bill so did not want them collecting another payment.
My pipex emails are still running and they have not tried to email us.0 -
Phone calls are billed in arrears so you wouldn't have been billed for any calls made on the line while with talk talk since your last bill was actually made up (2 weeks before or was due)0

TT are notorious for doing this. They did it to me. They continue billing after you have left. I also went to BT, also used the MAC TT provided. I had a long conversation with TT and they claimed i never left, Claimed i never requested a MAC and it went on and on with the lies and BS trying to justify stealing money from my account. Every time i provided proof of my position (for example emails from them with my MAC) they would come up with another excuse.
I cancelled my DD and told them i wasnt going to bother speaking to them any more and if they continued to believe they were entitled to my money they would need to go to court to get it. Not heard anything since (over 18 months now).0
