Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV etc... what has what?

Options
Toying with signing up to a streaming service over Christmas (I've had free trials already ;)), and was wondering if there's a website or similar which will search all UK services and say which has a certain program? Or is it a dream? ;)

I have signed up again to Netflix under my daughters email for another free trial. Though I am trying to work out what on earth NOW tv is - doesnt seem clear!! - sounds too good to be true that you buy a box and can get sky channels ... and do u just connect into your tv and link to wifi ?? - if it was that would give you a lot of programmes

Some, not all, Sky entertainment channels for £6.99/month via your broadband connection.

Option to add some movie channels for an extra £9.99/month and/or some sports channels for another £9.99/month.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

You get some Sky channels and catch up TV. It's not got all the features of the Sky satellite packages (for obvious reasons). You'll find Catch Up TV offerings are usually limited to first-runs of a particular show, so programmes that are currently being repeated on Sky channels usually don't show up in the Catch Up sections of Now TV. Some do occasionally show up there but most won't.

Movies are a different matter though and most movies that Sky currently have the broadcast rights to are available on-demand via Now TV, although there's usually a few missing for whatever reason.

I used a free trial of the Entertainment and Movie pack through my Roku once while waiting for Sky to replace a faulty box. It's alright but the picture quality wasn't very good even though most of it was HD (720p) and the menus at times are a bit awkward to navigate.

And yes, you can buy the Now TV box (which is a repurposed and limited Roku box), or you can get it through some other platforms and just sub online without buying the box. Connect it to WiFi and you're up and running.

You can also turn the £9.99 Now tv box into a fully functioning media player running plex-

The little white box is a subsidised Roku LT and it must be the bargain of the year for just £9.99 delivered. It even includes the HDMI cable (which by itself is often more than £9.99).
