Sorry if I was unclear.
I cannot connect the radio to the router - am getting 'Wireless Connect Timeout' so I was wondering whether the WEP key I input into the radio was correct. I found it on the router page but have not before accessed it and it seemed unlike other keys I have previously had. I thought that might be the problem.
However, the main concern is the timeout.0 -
Presumably you know what the "unencrypted" key is as you previously entered
it into the router, and also into any other wi fi connected devices such as a computer or laptop? Just enter that key using the radio's large dial to move through the characters and press to select.
Others have had problems connecting to secured routers after inputting the correct key when they have forgotten that they also have MAC address filtering enabled on the router to only allow approved MAC addresses to connect. If you have that set then you will also need to find out the radio's MAC address and add that to the approved list using the router's web page.
Good luck.0 -
you can usually find the radio's max address on your Router's admin web page (http://192.168.0.1/ for Netgear routers, similar for most others),. Go in to Wireless settings on the web page and the mac address will be listed there as 'trying to connect' or something similar. You can then 'ADD' the MAC address from there and allow it to connect to your router.0

Thanks. I have recently changed my ISP to BT but retained my original Belkin router and it set up automatically so I had no need to look at the WEP key before this.
I don't have MAC address filtering enabled so am puzzled as to why it won't connect. I did see some info. however about the version number of the radio software and note mine is v.255-c-133 and not the latest 255-c-158 but without being able to connect I can't, of course, update the firmware.0 -
shaggy - there is no sign of the mac address of the radio trying to connect on the router admin page. I could only add the address physically through MAC address filtering (at the moment turned off) and would also obviously have to enter my computers' MAC addresses too wouldn't I?0

Try disabling encryption to long enough to find it the radio connects. If it does, then the encryption settings need looking at.0

It finds my Belkin router and asks for the WEP key. I obtained the WEP key from the router site but it seems very odd to me - 10 numbers in pairs all under 5 - very simple - and when I entered it into the radio I received the message that the search had timed out.
Am I missing something? Can this be the correct key?0 -
Since it's out of stock, no its not a better offer!0 -
Problem solved by changing from WEP to WAP, disabling security while connecting and then re-enabling.
Radio has good sound and works where I want it to. However, keeps buffering so have to find a solution for that.0 -
Surely you mean WPA0
