Loved your rant, made me laugh :D

Now I think about it, a local restaurant sent me an email the other day...it invites me to dine with them on New Years Eve with a welcoming glass of Prosecco :D

I think you're getting prosecco confused with asti spumante if you're likening it to babycham.

It's a perfectly acceptable, equal quality, substitute for some of the over-priced French champagnes.

Whats not to like about a free glass of bubbly ? Or any alcohol ?
  • I love prosecco, I'll happily be welcomed with a glass.
  • I'd much rather have a glass of prosecco than champagne. Decent prosecco tastes better (IMO), doesn't give me heartburn like champagne does and is much less expensive....winner all around!

OP you made me laugh! Very true.

I do love Prosecco, but it definitely is as if companies feel they are "pimping" experiences by offering you a glass of it. Cava no, champagne hell no, Prosecco? Perfect!

I mean, "Come and see Santa, only £19.95!" Compared to, "Come and see Santa, only £19.95 with a free glass of welcoming Prosecco." Wowee!!!

I love prosecco, not at all keen on champagne. It goes down way too quickly, though. Aldi's yellow label one is very good. A splash of Chambord with it is bloody lovely.

  • Drank my first ever glass (and then bottle) of prosecco last night.

    My head still hurts :(

    But I like it.

Is prosecco wine or champagne? Coz I have no idea!
