Thank you both.mummy2threeboys wrote: »Oh massive congrats to you and yours! I had a crash section with my first i was in 5 days it was awful, i was climbing the walls. Sounds like you have a great supportive family. Re nappys have you tried cloth? They saved us so much money! Enjoy your precious cuddles xx
I do have a supportive family, so I'm lucky in that respect. As for cloth nappies, I know I shouldn't say this on a forum concerned with saving money, but I'm really quite squeamish, and I would rather spend the money and buy disposables, than have to wash soiled nappies. Is that really awful? I know it's also very environmentally unfriendly, but I promise I do try to reduce waste elsewhere where I can.2016 MFW no. 47 £0/£3,000

Congrats. I also wouldn't have used cloth, ick. I found the lidl nappies to be the best quality when my ds was born, granted it was 7 years ago but they were very cost effective & good quality.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Congratulations to you and your SO on the birth of your lovely baby.
With my little one (now three) I breast fed for 20 months, used hand me down/2nd hand clothes, had her co-sleeping in my bed for the first 18 months, used a sling, walked with pram rather than using the car, used baby led weaning, fed and still feed her the majority of organic food made from scratch, never let her cry it out etc. However... to the full time job that is being a mother, working part-time, looking after a house and two dogs... I just couldn't face swilling poopie cloth nappies and washing them on a daily basis. I used disposables... it saved me time, stress, storage and panic over drying them.
You don't have to be a perfect frugal earth mum Wombat... just keeping on doing what suits your life.xx

And I found @sda's Little Angel nappies to be the most leak proof on my little one... better than Pampers. But it's all about what suits the individual baby. xx0

Wombatchops wrote: »Not posted for a few days. On the 19th I gave birth to DD2, who is now one week old. So it's been kind of a frugal week by default. At the moment she is being breastfed, so her meals are free. I was in hospital until the 21st (caesarean) so I was fed there, and whilst in hospital, because DH doesn't drive for medical reasons, we didn't spend on petrol cos we got lifts from family, plus my in-laws looked after DD1 and DS, which meant feeding them, and did our clothes washing at their house, so no spends there either. And since we've been home, apart from the naughty take away we ordered the night we came home (we didn't know when we'd be discharged, so couldn't prepare dinner in advance), we've either been eating what we already had in, or people brought food in for us. Finally, both my DM and MIL have bought nappies for DD2, and she's either been wearing her older siblings' old clothes or stuff bought for her.
OK, so that's by no means a typical week, plus it's frugality by default, so I'm sure it's cheating, but it has saved us a fair bit of money, I'm sure, which we are definitely going to need since becoming a family of five.
I hope everyone had a good week last week, and enjoys the rest of their January.‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler.
