Mobile Phone insurance for devices older than 18 months
Hi All,
I am trying to find somewere that I can insure 2 handsets for me and my girlfriend. I found a site which offered a reasonable rate of £11.50 a month for 2 handsets. I selected that they are both Apple iPhone 5 and was about to proceed. HOWEVER I looked at the terms and conditions and seen it said handsets or devices older than 18 months were exempt from cover. I found this a bit strange given I gave the model of my phone which is obviously an older model and as I have had it over the period I would not be covered even though I can bet they would have been more than willing to take my money.
I was just wondering if anyone knows were I may find insurance that covers phones over 18 months old.
many thanks
Joe

HSBC covered my old phone when it was stolen, maybe your bank does too? You should consider whether an 18 month old phone is worth insuring. What would it cost to replace? You could just stick a tenner in a jar each month to get another phone if the worst happens.0

Not worth paying to insurance an old phone .
You wont get a new one if lost or stolen and you may find the excess is nearly as much as the value .
Put £11.50 a month into a drawer and stand the risk yourself .0 -

Even if I was cleaned out by burglars tomorrow, I'd still be quids in. This is because I'm not contributing to the company's profit or their administration etc. Of course, I don't keep this money in a drawer.....0
