Davies Loss adjusters dragging claim out....

Hi don't know if posting in correct place but desperately need help...
Davies loss adjusters came out to assess claim building insurance and costed it verbally at 15k, this was just over 2 months back.
I sent everything required including quotes I was asked to get but it seems to have stopped there.
I email and call and get fobbed off. They say they will call back but don't, they then say they didn't receive quotes so I send again, I then get told they've submitted report to Insurance Co, only to be told they need to clarify a costing on quote before they can submit report, yet 2 weeks earlier apparently report was submitted...
Has anyone ever had experience of this with them, and can I complain to FOS or similar.... Not sure what to do..
Also can I employ my own loss assesor who may act faster than snail pace Davies ?
Thanks

You can employ a loss assessor but you will have to meet the cost.
Complaining to the insurer direct is free.0 -
Your contract is with the insurer and its those you need to complain to.
You cannot complain to the FOS until you have complained to the insurer and either (a) have had their response or (b) 8 weeks have passed, whichever is sooner0 -
Thankyou.... I will complain to insurer today. Is email ok? As I have direct email of my claims handler.0

Their formal complaints procedure will be set out in the policy.
Head your correspondence "Complaint".0 -
E-mail is fine. Keep a copy in case you need it later.0
