Wireless connection with BT infinity

I've just had BT infinity installed. Line speed up to the Hub is as stated 36-37 mb. What speed should I expect from a laptops wireless connection. I've gotten a Dell Inspiron 1525, average speed is between 10-15. Which was pretty much the same as my old BB. Is this par for the course etc.

WiFi connection speeds are wildly optimistic though. The old 54Mbps G can only deliver just over 20. That 450Mbps connection won't deliver anything like that as real throughput even if the broadband itself could. An old fashioned bit of wire (gigabit ethernet and frequently just 100Mbps too) beats WiFi every time.
