  • I start a new job tomorrow. I was in my previous post for 3.5 years. The longest I've ever done a job for is 4.5 years although if this one works out I'm planning to hang on in there as I'm hoping for early retirement in 5.5 years and it comes with a local gov pension

19 months now. Prev job was 2 years and one before that was around 4 years.

We get a card at 1 yr and again at 5 years and at 10/20/25/30/40 years the gifts start increasing

In the 14-15 years I've been working, I've only had 4 jobs, staying for 5yrs, 3yrs, 1yr and 5yrs (current job), respectively.

I despised the 1yr job, so got out as quick as I could (it wasn't easy, as it was the height of the recession).

So I stick around, and if I hate it, I stick with it for just as long as I can bear :)

I'm very fortunate to have never been made redundant (thus far...).
