North Sea oil companies "close to collapse"

I wish the "Yes" campaigners had won the referendum, can you imagine the Scottish squeeky bums right now if they had?
we wouldnt have been independent till 2016 ... i'm sure the worst will be by by then... secondly for Scotland oil is the cherry on the cake ... not the cake itself, its 15% of the tax revenue, in Norway its 30% and they manage fine.
Many Yes campaigners are quite happy its low and want it to stay low for a while, there tends to be a lot of yes campaigners that are also campaigning against UGE, the low cost of oil is damaging the UGE industry with several UGE companies having to cancel plans for new areas, that suits campaigners, they are also happier to get their petrol etc slightly cheaper ... and i'm no gonna lie ... there are some that are delighted its so low so WM gets less money from the Scots through taxation,
I think you will find in the whole the Yes campaigners are quite happy, alot of them are working toward the GE in May and their furthering of the Home rule/ Independence cause0 -
George Osborne also predicted $115 a barrel this year ... and planned accordingly, will be interesting to see how WM manage the deficit i reckon
wonder what they will fill the cash void with ... I will sit and enjoy my popcorn watching them

I`m sure he is feeling a bit queasy with all the reality, but will ex-council hovels in Tillydrone hold their price.....tune in next week folks for some more Bullish nonsense, or maybe not :money: Hey, at least the punters in Aberdeen will soon be saving money on their house purchase! Got to look on the bright side folks!0 -

Tax is generated through economic activity as a whole. Not just the item itself. The UK is a net importer. Lower oil prices will result in more money staying in the UK. Not being transferred to the Middle East.0 -
ahem ... Scotland is a Net exporter .... the rest of the Uk is dragging us down again lol ... ( joke for anyone that thinks i'm being serious)0

yes, I am delighted that foreign sourced goods are becoming cheaper
however, that doesn't change the maths that the tax take is less on children's cloths than on imported oil.
that is a benefit to the people of the UK but there is no automatic correction to government lose of tax revenue0
