Have been reading and someone somewhere has said there is a lift to the beach in Torremolinos. I don't know where it is. If anyone can point me in the right direction this will save loads of time (and me poor legs). Just hope it's near to greigo mar hotel;)became debt free December 060

Hi, Love torre, nothing like Blackpool, I go late Nov every year for my Birthday, weather is always good enough for swimming etc, only need long sleeve shirt at night or light jacket. Even took my 4 kids in early Nov & they loved it. I always take €uro's with me & use Nationwide Credit Card for big buy's etc to avaoid commision. Love the Zara in main square as clothes at least 25% cheaper than here. Lift is next to Hotel Melia Costa Del Sol, also some steps, take you to back of main shopping area. There are some other paths between town & beach that are much easier on the legs. Hope this Map helps.http://www.carambacar.com/docs/torremolinos.pdf0

Thanks for the map it's great. I was planning to change my sterling over there - do you think I will get a better rate in England. I have my Nationwide Credit Card ready and waiting. I'm getting excited now. If you have anything you would like to advise me on - feel free, (I knew it couldn't be like Blackpool, for one the weather is !!!!)became debt free December 060

take the renfe (local train)to other towns on its route. it's cheap and fun. we went to malaga for the day this way and also to benalmadena to take the cable car up to the top of the local mountain- where there is bird (raptor)demo and horse show.0

has anyone been over xmas and new year, i go on the 28th for new year, whats the weather like? what sort of day trips can i get upto? any ideas??!0

olod post reawakened but anyway...
i went in winter- it's like a cold scottish summer. can be coat weather-cool in the evening or if it's windy. and light shirt weather in the day if it's not raining. you probably won't want to actually swim in the ocean but we walked down by the beach anyway.
the train should be easy to find- it's pretty central and is really cheap. just make sure you buy a ticket first (they have machines at the unmanned stations)
just remember museums etc are closed mondays.
the locals don't speak much english and the tourist offices are on restricted hours in the winter. also there is a siesta so the day is split into morning/evening with not much going on in between (which is annoying if you are out and about somewhere)
but tourists are made welcome. (it makes tourist excursions seem almost a good thing- but you can pay a lot of only a little depending on where you buy from)
the advice already given is good.
also beware anyone (english mostly) who asks you to go with them (and you will win something)...they are everywhere. just say no.
look for info on the web:
