While I'm waiting, I think I'll look up Chargeback.
    Good idea.

You might want to read MSE's article about it.

Bedworld left me a voicemail asking me to contact them. I did so and they said that they had arranged a delivery for Friday (30th) and would that be O.K. I said yes and they said that their courier would contact me on Thursday with a time slot. Watch this space.

(P.S. There were 3 different female voices)

I've just had a look at the article and although the sample letter talks about the supplier going bust and so you don't get your goods, it doesn't mention the supplier still being in business and just not sending them.

Got a text message this morning stating that the courier, Arrow XL, would be coming tomorrow (Friday) between 7:00 and 17:00. It also stated that they would be bringing all three items (Mattress, Bed, Headboard). This was followed up by an email giving the same information. Interestingly, the email says "... thanks again for shopping with BEDWORLD (NORTH) LTD". I did a check and these people are located in Castleford, not Huddersfield. Is this the "New Management" that was mentioned in another thread? Are they trying to turn the company around? They seem to be part of an affiliation of 9 companies located around that area, all dealing with beds and bedding.

    Let's see what tomorrow brings....

    Perhaps you missed this:
Some possible reasons for claiming a chargeback are:

Company goes into administration - the company you purchased from has gone bust.
Quality of item - the goods were not as described or were defective.
Non-delivery - the goods were not received as promised.
Technical issue - expired authorisation or a processing error by the bank.
Clerical error - being charged multiple times or being billed for the incorrect amount.
Fraud - you have been the victim of fraud and did not authorise the purchase.
Anyway, looks like your problem is being resolved.

  • Text message and email this morning to tell me that goods were being dispatched. Also reduced window 07:15 - 11:15. Courier phones at 10:10 to tell me was half an hour away. 10:35 - knock on the door. All components delivered in good order. What more can I say?

The first delivery date from "Bedworld" was missed without contact. The second delivery date from "Bedworld (North)" was all that anyone could expect. My order seems to have got caught in the transition between old and new management. Let's hope they keep up the good work.

Once again, thanks to WealdRoam for your input.

I'm really glad you got your goods but I checked Companies House and I am afraid that Bedworld and Bedworld.net were both dissolved in 16/12/2008 and Bedworld (North) was incorporated on 15/01/1996. So how could Bedworth (North) have just taken over a company that was dissolved over 6 years ago?

If you look on the various review sites, this "the company has just been taken over" bs is an excuse that has been regularly been given to irate customers over several years. Sounds like you were one of the lucky ones today...
