Parking Eye Charge notice

I have just received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye for parking at Kingston Hospital. I am a bit gutted as I know I paid - they have a new system where you put your registration number into the machine.
I was very surprised to receive this as I know I paid, however, the only thing that I can think of is that in my frustration (it is a new system and it was only on the third attempt that it was successful!) I think I may have put my own car registration in rather than my daughter's car that I was borrowing?
I now have to make the decision of whether or not to appeal. What are these people like? What are my chances given that it was probably a mistake, but I have no way of knowing and I am supposing that that is the reason they have issued a ticket. Should I just swallow it and pay the £50 fine so I don't end up with a £100 + fine? Any advice would be gratefully received.

just appeal anyway
details and template letter are in the NEWBIES sticky thread
if appealing online, make sure its below their max word or max character limit, altering to suit
DO NOT IGNORE due to the fact they take tens of thousands of people to court every year0 -
It is not a fine. Do NOT pay, do NOT ignore, do NOT reveal who was driving unless this was a hire/lease vehicle.
Read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES on how to appeal this and win. Also complain to the hospital management/PALS and demand this be cancelled, but do this as well as appealing.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Thanks, but 'just appeal anyway' could cost me an extra £50.00. I understand that process, but this COULD be my mistake. Does anyone have any experience of this company and do they have a heart? Are they likely to dismiss it as a gesture of goodwill? or not?
The website states that any appeal will lose the opportunity to pay the discounted amount of £50 and I will have to pay £100.0 -
My son appealed his notice charge and has now received a CCJ notice, he can either pay £150.00 to the court or pay £175.0 to clear the CCJ, At the time he was (and still is ) suffering with an optical problem which was causing him severe pain and the need to take very strong pain killers. He was driving home from an interview when the pain killers started to make him feel ill and drowsy. So to prevent any accidents and endangering the lives of fellow motorists he pulled into a car park and closed his eyes. He was only 5 minutes over the time limit. He has however provided the court with a letter to confirm this and he also has a copy of his hospital referral letter from the opticians, ( he is also a dispensing optician) we have contacted Parkingticketappeals.org.uk today and they hve told us that they are unable to help due to staff shortages and workload coming upto christmas..can anyone advise or help us with, this asap, he has until 26th December to act...Thanks0

We beat PE at POPLA every single time and have done for two years!
Start by doing an online appeal to PE, NOW! Not saying who was driving, but saying that you are the registered keeper and you know the driver paid, but wonder if they actually put in the wrong car reg which would have been xxx xxxx. Please could PE check their records around that time for either a typo with a digit or two, or the wrong car reg (the other car being the VRN xxx xxxx). Also add that you are aware their charges are not based upon a GPEOL {use that acronym they will understand it!} and as such you expect them to cancel it or send you a POPLA code.
Then at POPLA stage you use one of our full template winning versions - and you win.
And please, calm down, you won't pay a single penny. Read the NEWBIES thread, the acronyms are explained there as is 'how to win at POPLA'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Parking Eye have a decent record on cancelling genuine mistakes such as yours.
I would appeal to them with the facts first of all - you can always use the technical appeal points at POPLA later if all else fails.
Tell them that you think you entered your own car number - and tell them what is is - and asked them to check their records to prove the point. They will see that no car with your car reg actually came in.
If they do check, they will probably cancel. But do say something along the lines of
"I am aware that I can use a forum aided appeal based on GPEOL through POPLA, but I would rather be straight about what happened and get this settled with an appeal to you rather than go through the POPLA process that would put you to some expense and me to some trouble.
I hope you can agree, but if not, then I will expect a POPLA code so we can progress to the next stage"0 -

Please delete and re-post on your own thread as this isn't fair on the OP here.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Cobblers.
You appeal and pay zero. Ignore their website. You came here for advice and as long as you follow it you will get the MSE 100% discount.
It is NOT your mistake. It is the mistake of the hospital who employ parking lie. These parking companies make up ridiculous rules then breach their own trade body code of practice to entrap motorists. They then use scare tactics to try to get people to pay up when in fact they don't have to as long as they challenge the charges.I married my cousin. Thanks for everyone's input.
The good (or bad) news is that I have found the ticket and I did indeed put my registration number in instead of my daughter's so I know it was paid for and covered. Should I send a copy of the ticket (or put the ticket number if online) with my appeal?
And I'm assuming that as the charge is addressed to my daughter (as the car owner) she is the one that should submit the appeal?0
