Should I complain? Parcels not collected on time

I dropped 5 sacks full of 1st class parcels yesterday at 4.30 p.m. and they were still there this morning when I went in with more.
Should I complain, they should have been collected yesterday and mostly be with the customers today!

I've noticed this happening lately. I have to drop off by 3.30 to be sure of them being picked up, even though the last collection is supposed to be 5.30.

I'd consider the possibility that if you do complain your sacks may end up getting overlooked a little longer. It might be better trying to ask how you can get them to be shifted quicker, see if there's a best time to arrive. If you got there when a van was picking up you could drop them straight in the van.

No harm in complaining. At this time of year, called 'the pressure' in RM.
There are additional relief collections but these are on top of the regular collections.
Of course things happen and it could have been a vehicle breakdown etc.
However any collections failure should be registered on the national CMD database.

    Yes there is.

People who complain about things will find that, if it is possible, the people whom they have complained about will find a way to "get their own back".

So, like someone else mentioned, in this case the parcels may end up *lying around* just that little bit longer.
  • maybe last post had gone before 4.30

The only service that is guaranteed is special delivery, the rest are just hope for the best. At this time of the year you should expect a bit of a delay. Even if you do complain they won't be interested, and next time drop kick your parcels into the back of the van.

LOl. The PO dont control collections. So unless they didnt bother to hand them over.
    Its not their issue.
Collections are heavily controlled. If the collection was missed. RM should already know.

Collections at my local PO are done 4 times a day usually with the small Vauxhall postie van, they are currently using a rental Sprinter. The postmaster said he took in 40+ parcels on Sunday.

I use a small village P.O. and there is a collection at 11.30 and a collection at 5.15 p.m. - I get on well with all the staff and they have been helpful this year.

So I won't make a complaint. Just hope that the 52 customers whose parcels I posted on Tuesday are just as understanding and don't hammer my dispatch time!

I am paying for a service, if I pay for 52 1st class parcels I expect them to be collected on schedule. Especially at this time of year.
