I really think it was a case of 'you are sitting in my seat, which for today I choose to be my bed' when he didn't respond to the command, she took him out lol.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

The fortunate part of it all is that she has no long teeth, she had to have them out a couple of years ago.
6 teeth, maybe she is just getting her own back ha ha.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Has anything changed in your home? New baby, new pet, have you changed your cat's food or even the type of litter in its tray? Cats are very sensitive to their environment no matter how small the change and become stressed when things change. I agree with other forumites- take your cat to the vet for a health check as soon as possible. In the meantime give your cat the space until the vet gives it the all clear. You may also want to try Feliway- a synthetic facial hormone that mimics a cat's own natural hormone that helps it to feel safe and stay calm. I work for Cats Protection and although my views are my own please get your vet's professional opinion in the first instance. You may also find more help here: learnonline dot cats dot org dot uk/content/ufo/index.html (sorry had to write the word 'dot' otherwise MSE wouldn't let me send my post).
Please do let me know how you and your cat get on.0 -
No recent changes, Senior Citizens so pretty calm life to be honest.
I will ask at the vets next time we pass x.
Thanks all for your help

Aggression towards aggression never works and just escalates the issue.
Punishing her will just affect your relationship even more.
My sadly-now-departed old boy was also a farm kitten and semi-feral, alpha male (which was why we chose him) and had a very firm idea of how he should behave (very badly, usually).
When he did anything wrong, I would tell him off.
I'd call him a 'bad cat'. Not 'boy' or 'lad' because they were terms I used when he was good.
He was always very clear that he'd done something wrong.
I'm pretty sure that if I'd spanked his bum, he would have given it back to me in spades.0 -

A semi-feral cat who hasn't spent enough time around humans to learn the rules of pet-cat behaviour might not understand that certain behaviours, like biting humans who aren't paying her enough attention, are bad.
My cat would also bite at unexpected times.
Quite often, he'd come and sit beside me and look up at me as though to say 'I love you, Mum' and I'd stroke his back or head and suddenly without warning, he'd grab my hand with his teeth.
And then, he'd seem to collect himself and think 'Whoops! Shouldn't have done that' and race off to hide.
We think it was in part his semi-feral genes and part due to the fact that he was incredibly ill as a very small kitten.
The vet reckoned he was no older than 5 weeks when we took him in less than 2 days after bringing him home, diagnosed with cat flu & pneumonia and not expected to live.
He did pull through but we think it sort-of fritzed his brain a bit because he was always a bit of a handful.
Although he did like being wrapped in a towel and rubbed quite vigorously when he came in wet through and would also let me wrap him tightly in his towel and he'd sleep upside down in my arms like a swaddled baby.
I miss the little sod though.0 -

This is what happened to Tinker to a T. Everything except the towel at the end.
One thing I must add, is that she morphs into a completely differend cat once in the Vets room. It is unbelievable to see.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Mine is a bit of a nut-job.......again feral....or semi feral. I got her at around 4wks old as it was thought the mother was dying.
She will mouth often....and sometimes get carried away and full on bite. Not in an angry way...more of a lunatic way.....:D.
The only time she has really viciously attacked me was when she had an abscess (huge one) near her bum and went mental if you went near her. I'm glad she did though...as it alerted me to the fact something was wrong and needed attention.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

I try to towel my cat off when he comes in soaking wet but he runs and hides if he see's me approaching with a towel.
