Lol I won't bother then...the funny thing is though all neighbours stopped taking parcels in for this particular neighbour as she started accusing all of stealing from the packages even going as far as calling the police on one...and they have been neighbours and friends for over 30 years...this is also something I would think this posties would of known by now...she has also been known to 'return to sender' on the rare occasion she took in for someone else..
My daughter is printing me off some kind of sign to put up so my early morning snoozle remains intact from now on...0 -
I used to put a notice on my door which read "Night shift worker in bed, please do not disturb". Any one who did well they got both barrells!
However TBH most people didn't knock when they saw that.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
He was probably just trying to do what he thought best at the time.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

What would of been best at the time.....would of been to knock on the correct door....surely, or am I missing something?.
If I didn't have a car on the drive, would it of been logical to pick another and again not even attempt to deliver at the correct address... all because they didn't have a car on the drive?0 -
If I were in bed and knew I hadn't a parcel ordered I would just ignore it next time.
At this time of year, it would be inconceivable for a parcel to arrive unexpectedly.0 -
I don't understand why the postman did not even bother to try your neighbours!
I must confess that I have been guilty of abusing a delivery guy recently... 2 o'clock in the afternoon, I just managed to put my baby too sleep. The doorbell rang, and because I did not go downstairs fast enough, twice, then 3 times! Of course, baby crying, me finally downstairs to be told the parcel was for my neighbour, and the delivery guy refusing to leave it outside (despite having been told to do so several times already, everybody else does it, it is safe) or to keep it.
I am afraid he got a mouthful of abuse and I slammed the door in his face. It's not right, it's not clever, but when you are a sleep deprived parent, you don't always react sensibly. Oopsy.0 -

If someone knocks on my door at 7am in middle of winter and I'm not expecting a parcel then I don't get up to answer it. Simple as that. If it is imprtant they will keep knocking and/or phone then I'll think about getting up to see.
Other than that I'm usually at wotk by 7am anyway.0 -

...like when we all signed up for the "don't leave me un-addressed junk mail" list - worked for a few months, then the pizza leaflets returned with a vengeance - sometimes several copies of the same one!0
