Double or Single Oven
Options

As mentioned in other posts I'm in the process of building a new kitchen from scratch. I'm now looking at what products I will include.
I'm researching ovens at the moment and was wondering should I opt for a double or single built in oven?
I enjoy baking, cooking and use my grill quite a lot. At the moment I've a twenty year old plus Creda double oven which is about ready to give up the ghost!!
So what do you think: Single or Double? What's the advantages/disadvantages? Recommendations?
When making a purchase of this value I nearly always start with Which? Best Buys and follow that up with Amazon Reviews and of course with the occasional question here

Double oven every time.
I have mine in a tall cabinet meaning my grill is eye level. The microwave above that.
Large oven is fan the small oven non fan, better in my ovens case for cakes.
I can grill and cook at the same time ideal for some meals.
I think you will regret changing to a single oven.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I use the single oven when just cooking one or two dishes and the double for larger quantities such as a roast etc
Can also use both for cooking different things at different temperatures at the same time, eg a casserole and jacket potatoes at lower temp in one oven and a pie, Yorkshire puddings etc in the other at a higher temperature
I had a single oven in our previous house and would not go back to a single oven (or a low level one, come to that)2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

double if you cook and bake a lot. also we use our top oven/grill when we have a smaller amount to cook/bake, uses less gas.0

I wish I had a double oven, a couple of Christmases ago I needed a cooker quick, I managed to get one online but the ovens tiny, so Christmas is more difficult lots of switching things, any how next year I am loaning to get a double one.0

I don't like double ovens as invariably they're too small for a big roast. We got a new oven this year and chose one that can be divided into two separate ovens cooking at different temperatures, or the divider can be taken out to create one oven, we're really happy with it - it's a Samsung Dual Cook2025 - Declutter to Move House

I have a double oven and I couldn't go back to using a single one. It is especially useful on baking day when dinner is cooked in the bottom oven and I can still carry on baking.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I have a Bosch double oven and the bottom oven is big enough for the largest turkey.. I love my double oven wouldn't go back to a single one again..
As others have said I can cook a full roast dinner in one and bake in the other... very useful.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
