Help with candle making needed!

Hi all,

I'm new to candle making, and just tried making my first teacup candles. Everything has gone to plan with my first 'pour', however when the wax has cooled it has obviously shrunk, and therefore has separated from the teacups, i.e. there is a very small gap between the edge of the wax and the teacup.

I can't find very much information on this during my google searches, but a couple of sites are saying to heat the teacup before filling with the wax. Just wondering if anybody has any experience of this, whether it works, and also if there's anything I can do about the ones I've already made? Is it ok to just try and fill in the gap in my final pour?

Thanks a lot in advance :)
