Hi again,
Latest update and still looking for a bit of help if u guys can:
Check to see if card was seated ok and was. I've uninstalled the drivers and been running off the motherboard(i think!)
Got onto Dell and complained and after much toing and froing they finally agreed to send a reconditioned card(got it yesterday so u can tell how long it took!)
I've put it in but the Laptop won't recognise it, and when i try to install the drivers from Nvidia or the drivers from Dell they won't accept it saying
"they couldn't find any drivers that would match up to my current hardware"
so the question is, how do i get the laptop to recognise the new card?
Cheers guys0 -
if you run, start, run, devmgmt.msc, do you get yellow question marks for the device, and if so there should be an instance id in the properties for it, posting that might help id it.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Hi, yes i do have the yellow question mark in other devices:Video controller(VGA Compatible)
Properties instance ID: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0298&SUBSYS_019B1028&REV_A1\4&1C9EC085&0&0008
Does that anything cause it doesn't to me! lol0 -
You could try this one, but I am not 100% sure it is the right one. Was the card labelled as a 7800 or NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX?

Nvidia drivers for dell laptops won't work. If you want drivers, download the NGO HQ Nvidia drivers. These are unofficial drivers, not signed by microsoft (I don't think) but they will install on Dell laptops.0

Thanks again for the help and advice guys. To my surprise Dell actually rang and checked i got the card and to see if it was working. They put me thru to a technician who downloaded Nvidia drivers from Nvidia.com, i couldn't believe it when it worked as i had been doing exactly the same from Nvidia.co.uk!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!
Well it's working for now so fingers crossed!0
