  • With Ovo, you deal with intelligent people in the UK who have first names and surnames. Email communication is fast and telephone communication is reassuring. I think that sometimes Ovo suffers from background processes in the industry that are outside of its control and frustrating both to Ovo and the customer.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

OVO don't get everything right. I tried to enter my meter readings in MyOvo today and got locked out after gas. On checking, it would seem the meter man called a week ago and the actual read for electricity stopped me from entering my reading for 14 days. I sent a Victor Meldrew e-mail to OVO, and I got a response a couple of hours later asking me to call with my readings. My call was answered immediately and a very nice lady had my statement updated in minutes. Given that what comes down the pipes is the same from all suppliers, customers can only sensibly select a supplier on cost, billing and customer service. OVO ticks all the right boxes for me at the moment.

I am very unsatisfied with the service from Ovo energy. I sent a letter of complaint to them 2 weeks ago as well as an email. They have not replied or acknowledged my letter. When I phoned this morning I was told the complaints department would ring me back today.
When I phoned back they said the complaints were very busy. Not a good sign for a reputable company. Has anyone else had problems with this company.
  • I've been with Ovo for about six months and have not experienced any problems. On the few occasions I've contacted them they have answered by questions quickly and efficiently, whether this has been by email or phone. No complaints from me. I think you would find it difficult to find a better energy company. I've certainly had more problems with many of the companies I've had energy from in the past.

Good to hear positive responses about ovo I hope when I ring the complaints department this morning I may be able to speak to somebody rather than just being passed on to await a call back.
I have been doing voluntary work in Romania and have been trying to deal with the problem from abroad. On my return I urgently need to sort the problem.
I am in contact with my solicitor but am reluctant to start legal proceeding when ovo could resolve the problem.
I do not know how to speak to the complaints department any ideas?

Try e-mailing the MD at OvoEnergy. His e-mail address is freely available on the Web:

    jason.sharpe@ovoenergy.com

Put 'Complaint' in your Subject Title. You will usually get a response from someone senior in the Ovo complaints team.

Thanks for the advice I have just sent off an email to the MD I will keep you updated
  • I cannot believe that only 7% rate this company as poor - the rest must still be blinded by the hype. Ovo refused to believe my readings at change over, despite proof mailed to them from previous supplier and my own digital photos, the difference was deducted by direct debit! I found them expensive, on a standard tariff, compared to my previous supplier and switched over to EDF Blue + price promise. This is not only cheaper, EDF also e-mail me when there is a cheaper tariff elsewhere, so thats my experience.

You can only speak from.your experience. - for my part they have responded quickly to any issue.
