Ee & bt

Options
I have a contract with EE which expires in December 2015 and today I've found out that BT are on the verge of taking over EE. I have a couple of questions regarding this. One will there be any change in the terms of my contract ie my monthly tariff, and and secondly would I be able to leave my contract early without incurring any penalties because of this takeover as BT hardly have a very good reputation and it's certainly not a company I would choose for a mobile phone service provider?!

Many thanks.

  • It won't affect your current contract at all.

You can't leave early without penalty because of an ownership change..

    Not a snowballs chance...

Your contract will continue as normal, if you really cannot stand BT you have the right to terminate your contract early and pay an early termination charge. That will be your line rental x number of months left (possibly with a small discount, check your contract for exact terms).

Bit of a knee-jerk reaction, no?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
