Parking Eye Aldi

i did a big Christmas shop at Aldi a couple of weeks ago and today I received a parking fine from Parking Eye for overstaying by 20 minutes.

I phoned Aldi and they advised me to send till receipts and bank statement to Parking Eye to appeal.

I've not had a parking fine before. Is this the best advice?

Thanks

You did not receive a "fine". You received an invoice. Saying that, PE should cancel this fake fine if you send the copies of either your receipt or a suitably redacted bank statement

That will work, but add the circumstances (as per your post #1) along with copies of your receipts, as a final paragraph to the initial appeal shown in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky at the top of the forum index.

PE will cancel as long as you comply with their timescales and you've had an Aldi spend of >£30. Don't delay, or you'll be looking at court papers from this most litigious of all UK PPCs.

I don't know if it still holds true that no scamvoice to an Aldi customer has ended as a court case yet.

Actually RB, you're right, I've yet to seen a full blown Aldi/PE court case, but they do/have issued LBA/LBCCCs, possibly as 'frighteners'.

They did so to one of mine, and hence my Aldi/PE thread (now approaching 2,500 posts) which no doubt has caused plenty of hassle for both companies, and my continued involvement in helping out here and PePiPoo (to a lesser extent) on a regular basis.

There must be something in the contract between the two that Aldi have insisted customers do not suffer SCC grief from PE.

Pity Morrisons didn't think through the impact on customers and bottom lines. Aren't Morrisons having profit problems? I wonder why?

  • Aldis way of thanking you for trusting them with your weekly shop.
Surely they have made it clear they do not want your business.

Yeah I know, don't think I'll be shopping at that branch again or even at Aldi ever again if I end up having to pay.

I spent £198 as I paid for my daughters shopping as well.

My husband went to the shop this morning with copies of till receipts and said the manager was very helpful. He signed the parking fine and said he'd deal with it and to throw away any reminders from Parking Eye.

Should I also contact Parking Eye myself though?

Might be worth an email, with the PCN reference, to say that the Aldi manager [Name] has dealt with this PCN to have it cancelled. Please confirm.

It's not over until PE confirm it is over.

Don't throw away anything from PE . Until you get a "ticket cancelled" letter from PE, send your own appeal to them in parallel saying that the manager will be confirming cancellation.
