Here's hoping that I am in the right place to ask this question?
The back story is that ever since 1993 I have always been given HIGH mobility & MIDDLE care of DLA. I have had reviews over the past 20 years, all of them giving indefinite awards . Fast forward to Nov last year. I was 65 in June 13 so PIP has to be claimed. Hearing that it could well have been 2015 at the earliest that I would be called, I would have been 67 at least. So like everything in life that I do, I take the bull by the horns and just get on with it.
I 'volunteered' for PIP in Nov 13 and eventually received a ruling in April 14 that I was no longer disabled!! In their letter it said that as I had failed the PIP test and that I was over 65, they would see if another similar allowance could be paid. This week I heard that this other allowance, Attendance something, was also refused.

What I would like to know is how do the government expect us to live when they have reduced our weekly income by over £100 a week and on top of that I have had my car taken back from me that the DLA was paying for, we no longer get any help towards the Council Tax and no help towards the mortgage. Can I put in another claim for PIP just to get the car back?

No help with council tax, you want to speak to your SIL and find out how to screw the system. Helpful enough for you?
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Hey, where did that come from? I don't have a sister in law or even a brother???? I've got a couple of children and a few grandchildren?

Fortunately I have found out that we are entitled to some help with the Council Tax. We have put in a claim with the council following a chat we had with CAB. Seems the council aren't in the habit of asking questions once we dropped off full CTB when the Pension Credit claim was closed down by the DWP.

This is a good guide, bit late for you:-

    http://www.rcn.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/540511/MSS_PIP_guidance_ii.pdf

From my understanding; if you were 65 or over when PIP started you stay on DLA, if you were between 16-64 you will (at some point, could be 2017/18) be asks to apply for PIP, where you're assessed under the PIP rules, if you don't apply your DLA stops.

So it seems you turned 65 at the time PIP started April 2013, so you would of been asked to apply for PIP at some point, but it may of been several years in the future, so you could of kept you DLA Car etc until that point, you may of been assessed as still not qualifying but you'd of had it for a bit longer, but you may of been classed as qualifying.....since you don't know what your condition will be like in several years time etc

You 100% jumped the gun in trying to do the right thing....and it sounds like you've also left an appeal to late, all you can done is speak to CAB for advice and apply for Attendance Allowance again.

Still at the old trolling then?
