Hi Orchid......sounds like you got better value than me! Well done.

Regarding the roasties - yes you can freeze them. I find they are actually better if you freeze them part cooked then "re cook" them from frozen when you want them, but you CAN freeze them fully cooked. If they're fully cooked, I just reheat in the microwave. They go a bit soft that way but are still yummy!
  • Well, I went to the ASDA this morning with children in tow. Fatal mistake! Came in at £18 over budget but in my defence, I have now got enough wash powder, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid and loo rolls to last all month! I also slightly indulged in the 200g Cadbury bars for £1 offer that was on :o We've enough to keep us going for the week - with a couple of nice extras so I'm sure I'll be able to pick up on the overspend next week ;) I hope so anyway!

Make sure that when you do use your vouchers you use a boots advantage card with them so you get extra money off too.
Also try Brain Jucier money made from this convets to amazon vouchers to buy xmas presents with, and sign up for lightspeed points (throught piggypoints site) you get to do surveys and i exchange my earnings into my paypal account.

And dont worry about having to keep changing your buget, i do this all the time, only found this site a year ago and it has changed everything, took me a while to master meal planing but the hard work soon pays off.

Off on hoilday tonight so good luck this weekend and wish me luck too, 4 kids and a big kid of a hubby at the seaside is bound to mean i spend too much!!!!!!
    Take care Donna

Many thanks Donna. I really appreciate all your advice. Have a great one!!!

going to try rejoin for this month.
We were on holidays til Tuesday just gone, and we did obviously soend money on food but as hubby was in tow for every supermarket trip I think we should just write that off against holiday budget LOL Feels like our spending is allover the place and I need to get a handle on it again.

So my August will start from the 1st (would normally be 20th Jul when I got paid) and run til 20th - so 3 weeks.
Already I spent about £140  at Asda yesterday stocking up on nappies and cleaning stuff and some school bits for DS, so I must rejig the numbers and see exactly what went on food, nappies, toiletries and cleaning stuff.
Anyway reckon I'll do a budget of £300 for these 3 weeks and then a budget of the same for the whole of September. And by then my baby (number 3) will have arrived   so the budget will skyrocket with even more nappies. Oh well.
Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
    NSDs: 3

If you have to spend money (which we all do obviously!!) I can't think of a better way - :T Good Luck with the baby JillD, hope all goes well. :T
  • Despite all the problems i haven't gone too far over budget £56.65 so far and only need to get baby wipes before i get paid on Tuesday so hopefully quite a bit to put in holiday kitty this week. Thank you to those that have sent me messages - i really appreciate them. I am sticking to my menu planner and my MIL seems quite impressed that i have made a quiche for lunch - lets hope she agrees with the tast and then its Cottage Pie for tea.

Poohspals pleased to hear it's going better than you thought, amazing what you can achieve even when problems arrive if you want to. You're braver than me allowing MIL to stay and help, my idea of hell! Keep smiling, sure things will be back to 'normal' in no time. Got my delivery Tuesday aswell as the going to Costco and haven't stepped foot in a shop since, actually haven't been out much at all but nevermind at least I'm not spending :rotfl:have doubled milk Tuesday and Saturday as I think that's where we are runnning out, stops me popping to the shop for milk and coming back £20 lighter! Best do my weeks meal plan which I keep putting off, hopefully a very small shopping list to go with it, have kept a freezer stock list on an excel spreadsheet and just keep editing it when somethings used/bought so saves me writing down every week.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
