Vodafone witholding credit after contract closed.
Options
I moved from Vodafone recently and I received my closing bill on 12/Nov/14 with £28.84 credit. I assumed the money would be returned to my account but after reviewing my bank statements I could find no evidence of a return. I called Vodafone customer service dept. I explained the situation to the advisor but he told me that my account number was NOT showing credit. I informed him of the closing statement on 12/Nov/14 and he was eventually able to find the £28.84 credit. I have been informed that the money will be returned to my bank account. As it happens I did not need to tell customer services my bank account details because Vodafone already had them. If Vodafone had the intention of returning the money it owed me, then Vodafone could have simply gone ahead and done the right thing, without me having to call.vI believe that if I had not been so persistent, and had I not had my own clear records, this money would never have been returned. Beware when closing accounts that you may have to ask for your money back. Don't expect the service provider to do the right thing.
