Irrespective of any other alarm bells ringing I wouldn't be throwing the thick end of £30k at anything from a back street dealer in that area - I'd expect it's one of those times when a hard negotiation at a main dealer during late December may net you the car you want at a price not far north of what the chancers are asking

That's fair enough I guess. It isn't even just a price issue though - although obviously the less the better! Just struggling to find anything within a day's travelling distance, but I guess we'll keep on looking.

In you're situation I'd go to your local dealer and tell them what you want - let them search for an appropriate car for a couple of days and then start playing with price. I've found on 3 occasions that a silly offer on Christmas eve and a challenge to them to get the car to you before the end of the year works wonders.

On something like this you should be able to forget any issues about having not seen it as it should be covered by Range Rover Approved Used scheme anyway

My last purchase on this basis was from a Mercedes dealer 300 miles away and it turned up on the back of a transporter with me never having seen it before - one of the best purchases I ever made
