Burners have limited lifetimes. If you want one you are as well paying for a new one rather than risking a second-hand door stop.0

They will, but I believe you can only play back the recorded disk on the machine which it was recorded on.
If it would play on another machine I'd be first to buy.

I've got one and you're right. It works fine. The limitation is on the number of copies you're able to make of some programmes.0
