Its a joke i dont even see the money it goes on a car and help round the house. Hardly jetting round the world with it.0

There are some ignorant people around. Fortunately I think or hope that they are in the minority.
They need to walk a month in your shoes so to speak before being jealous of you receiving diability payments/free hire car. We would all swap the money for a healthy body again.
I wish you well and try and ignore his stupidity. Xx0 -
Hey, jealous? Not at all on my part. Just angry at the way the DWP decide who is and isn't disabled. There are some ignorant people around. Fortunately I think or hope that they are in the minority.

Oh please, get real, nobody gets a "free car" , explain to the ignorant that they take a lump of your benefits every week to cover the cost and you have to give it back after a few years and get nothing for it if you can be bothered, personally I would just ignore them (I usually do), muppets!!0

Hey just a thought. I don't get any help towards the buying/use/leasing of a car. If I want to get a car I have to use my own money (State Pension, savings etc) Doing that means that I am reducing my income/savings.
If you do get help with a car via Motability, the government award you the money for you to spend on one. Your capital remains the same as does your income (before you received the award and afterwards).
In my example, I am as disabled as those that are awarded the benefit.
Who do you think is worse off?0 -

It is a free car! It is payed for from cash given to you free from the government who get there money from the taxes. No mater how you use the money from dla/pip it is still free money.
Same way any benefit is free money. The reason for so much resentment is hard working people can only dream of a new all expenses paid car every 3 years.
And the amount of motability cars parked In supermarkets I find it hard to believe that there are that many disabled people that actually fit the hrm criteria without some very creative form filling or abuse.0 -
Hi All
I am 63 and was diagnosed three years ago with an incurable wasting disease.
Like most people I never really paid any attention to disabled people previously but since my diagnosis I really am extremely disappointed by the reaction of some people to disability.
They automatically assume you are pretending or putting it on, a year ago when I could get out to a pub, a customer 'stole' my wheelchair and wanted me to prove whether or not I could walk.
I have been to court once with DWP over Employment & support allowance and won but now I am waiting to see if I qualify for PIP or whether I have to go all through the Court again.

very few 'hard working people' resent the disabled. they mostly feel sympathy for them and thank god that they are not similarly affected!
some may 'dream of a new car every 3 years', but i bet none of them dream of contracting the condition that enabled the disabled person to have the car in the first place!
i have a friend who is married to a man that has a very successful business.
they go abroad several times a year, their children go to private school and they all wear designer labels.
would i swap place4s with her?
no, because her husband is an absolute pig who regularly and openly cheats on her and talks to her like something the cat dragged in.
so on the surface it may appear that she has everything, whereas in fact, she has very little.
so before you start getting all green eyed over the 'free' cars, look at the whole picture and then decide if you think its such a great deal!
and the word is 'paid' not 'payed'0 -
If you believe that you meet the criteria for DLA/PIP etc then it is up to you to appeal the DWP's decision, just as I and many others had to do.Hey just a thought. If as you claim you are disabled, then you know just how much more difficult it is to live day to day with a disability/illness and therefore should know better than to partake in the common act of disabled bashing that this forum is becoming well known for.
It seems to me that you have accepted that the DWPs decision is right, therefore one can only conclude from your lack of fight that you possibly are not disabled?
If you believe you meet the criteria, stop whinging and moaning, stop taking it out on other disabled people, and make a new claim.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
