AFAIK you haven't been able to get CWI under ECO for months and months because of the barmy auction system Government want to use.

You can get it under GDHIF though.

The new ECO regs came into force on December the 5th so there is effectively a 'new pot of money' which is why all the sales people are going crazy.

I had my technical survey today - totally free - and my CWI will be installed in January - again totally free and available to anyone (you don't have to be on benefits, old etc - just as long as your house needs it). I asked the guy today and he said if I had paid privately it would have cost ~£1500 to do my house but will cost me nothing as they effectively 'sell my carbon savings' to the energy companies who pay (using my green taxes on my energy bills) because they have to pay for a certain quota of carbon savings as set by their license to supply conditions.

So I have free insulation coming that will save me ~£100/year off my gas bill. Get it while you can because once they have installed the required amount of carbon saving measures the pot of free insulation cash will be empty!!
