metric gas meter calculations

every month i take a gas & electric reading to keep on top of my bills and know exactly what my usage is, but sept of this year my meter was changed and since then my readings are about 3 times as much as they were before. i have since found out that it is a metric meter as opposed to a imperial meter, so i have worked out some of my readings since and i dont know if i am doing it right, can anyone give me any guidance, my calorific value is 39.4 and my cost is 3.6p a unit, so on a reading of say 44 units on the meter since the last reading what would my cost be, thanks in advance to anyone who gets the same cost as me

If you use the figure of 1 metric gas unit is 11.2kWh you will be close enough. - it doesn't vary much.0

If it helps, the old Imperial meters read in hundreds of cubic feet. 100 cubic feet is 2.8316846592 cubic metres.
So a cubic metre meter should spin just under three times as fast.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
