Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
I'm going hardcore to ensure another NSD tommorow. We only have 2 slices of bread left and as we all eat toast = 6 slices. Anyway I defrosted a pack of 6 hot dog rolls which we can toast and eat for breakfast. Can tell OH thinks I've crossed the line but isn't that silly that we will all eat bread in one form at a certain time but another form is wrong?

I have done that - it is just toasted bread, is't it? In fact it is extra nice as the bread is a bit thicker, and it is lovely and soft inside and soaks up the butter and marmalade :)
  • Almost a NSD today but had chocolate craving so spent £0.67 on whole nut

  • Good evening everyone.

Have been doing well. I have had 3 NSDs since Sunday, but this evening went to Asd@ for a few bits, milk, YS bread and others and spent £5.93.

I have updated my sig and think we will manage the challenge.

I noted the discussion on vinegar and confess I have been using it for nearly a year, and there is no smell on our clothes. I also use it around the house for cleaning, the smell soon disappears.:)

Also the washing machine dispenser drawer isn't all horrible and gunky like if you use the fabric conditioner.

Another NSD today but I'm now out of milk except a dribble for a cup of coffee in the morning and I'm down to a scrape of margarine. I'm setting a budget of £4.20 for those as that is the loose change I have in my purse.

I made a turkey and vegetable pie tonight for tomorrow nights dinner and the freezer is still almost full so no excuses if I don't stick to the £4 :o

I now have 8 days until pay day and we aren't doing too bad on our tiny budget :)
    £36/£240

Quite agree with you - bread's bread. Maybe you could look at freezing your bread so you always have some in hand. Might help you get some of those NSDs eh ;)

We had a lovely dinner today with salmon fillets, croquette potatoes, asparagus and hollandaise sauce. The salmon was from a YS side I bought, portioned and froze a couple of weeks ago.

Also today I made a big pot of Bolognese sauce and another of leek and broccoli soup.

Managed another NSD today and hope for two more this week

Hope you all staying warm, safe and dry this awful weather

There is tallow in most soaps, too, the saponification process needs fat to work and most soap companies find tallow the cheapest option.

If you want to avoid tallow you need to buy soaps that are specifically marked as "vegetable".
I am pleased to say more luck than judgement that I am OK on that score, We use body shop and lush mostly. But I will have to do a bit of research around hair conditioner.
  • Another spend day for me. Didn't realise OH had been giving DS1&2 lunchbox stuff for snacks at home. Also, used the last of the cheese and I can't live without cheese :)

£6.82 with Mr T. However, picked up some YS bargains.. lettuce 1p, Cauliflower 1p, Sausage Roll 1p, Mini Bagels 24p, 4pk Crunch Corner Yoghurts 3p, Pack of Jacket Pots 15p and 400g Danish Loaf 11p. Most of the rest of the cost was on the 2 for £5 cheese.

NSD tomorrow, but have a big shop booked in for Friday (we have home delivery as neither of us drive. Cost of delivery far lower than cost of a taxi). Guide price is £80, at the moment, but it contains most of the stuff we need for the next fortnight. Managed to find a few coupons to use with products that are on promotion too, so happy with that :)
