AOL/TalkTalk advice needed please

For reasons lost in the mists of time I have two AOL email accounts so only noticed this morning that an email had gone to the 'main' account which only gets AOL messages.
Anyway this was to inform me that my AOL Broadband is going to increase from £10.31 a month to £15.31 or I can switch to Simply Broadband, but that seems to involve also switching my line rental which I would prefer not to do. Plus I am certain that the costs would jump after the initial discount year.
They seem to be offering £1.75 a month - which is half price for the first 12 months but plus the line rental.
Sorry if this sounds confused, the brain does not seem to be working at full power this morning so I don't feel up to trying to haggle with a call centre.

Sorry. Just read my post and it doesn't even make sense to me.:o
I read the email, panicked and posted, forgetting the step which should have come between panic and post - 'calm down and think'.0 -
Phone now seems to have gone the way of insurances and energy - switch suppliers every year for the best deal0

I take it that you have your line rental and phone service at the moment with someone other than AOL or TalkTalk. That will be costing you around £16 per month (line rental)
You seem to have to decide whether to stay with the AOL tariff with its various restrictions, such as 10GB download limit and up to 8Mb data rate, or effectively become a TalkTalk customer.
TalkTalk broadband is not capped either for download limit or data rate AFAIK. There is also a deal to get 10% off the line rental by paying 12 months up front. You would also have to take the phone service from them, migrating from your other provider.
I have the TT line rental, Simply Broadband, and the Anytime UK Calls boost which covers calls to all UK landlines & mobiles as well as 0845 and 0870 for £7.50 per month. You don't have to make many calls on a PAYG basis to rack up £7.50.
I hope my musings are helpful0
