Funnily enough, a few weeks ago we bought a 7ft mahogany table & six padded chairs (including two carvers) secondhand via eBay from a nice couple downsizing in Chadderton :)

So my suggestion is eBay and don't be afraid to message buyers to work out a deal on unsold items :)

  • I too have this confusion. I bought a 6 chair dinette set at $700 as a family reunion was round the corner and was running late for preparations. So I immediately bought it as it was nearby and prices were very low than expected. I was in a hurry to check how good the furniture is as I bought it from a nearby store, the Surplus Furniture here in Brantford. They have cheap furniture and exclusive discounts as well. I feel not so good with the furniture as they seemed to look not well polished. I don't know what to do now. Any ideas or suggestions? please.

There are lots of furniture warehouses in Leek that do secondhand/antique stuff for decent value. I've had some good bits of furniture from there over the years- there is a big warehouse (can't remember the name sorry) that covers about 4 floors that usually has a bit of everything, and they will deliver too.

Sanjushreyas you've reopened a thread that was started in 2014, just to try and sell your own stuff.

Maybe take a look on your local classified sites like Gumtree and Friday Ad, you will usually find some great deals on there. However the quality tends to vary a bit though, so make sure that you are prepared to hunt around a bit; there are bargains to be had for sure though.

My flatmate and I managed tto find an eight person extendable table for less than £100- it was in great condition, it just needed a bit of a polish. If you are limited for space then my sister ordered some brilliant folding tables from this company http://www.gopak.co.uk/tables/folding-tables They look really nice but a little bit out of my price range ;)

I live close to the centre of Brighton and luckily for us there seems to be a culture of leaving unwanted furniture possessions outside your house on the pavement and usually it has gone within the hour. I have found some real bargains this way.
