O2 SIM for ad-hoc use?

Can you get an O2 SIM which you can just top up on an ad-hoc basis rather than having to pay a set amount each month?
I looked on their site and everything seems to be some sort of a bundle, starting at £10/month.
You should probably consider a Giffgaff sim, it's a sub-brand of O2 (also belonging to Telefonica UK) with cheap minute and text rates (as well as free calls to 0800). They charge 10p per minute and 6p per text.

When the SIM arrives, you can call 2202 in order to select a Tariff. Both Big Talker and International SIM are suitable for purpose.International Sim

Neither affect your topped up credit.
Though as aforementioned , GiffGaff may be better value. Especially as you can order one that give you £5 extra credit on your first topup.0 -
Why giffgaff, not Tesco Lite, that with 8p/min is better for occasional use without bundles?NiftyDigits wrote: »Though as aforementioned , GiffGaff may be better value.0 -

Thanks for the comments - it's really for the O2 moments as much as being to make calls.0

Without buying a bundle you just pay O2's 'standard rates' 25-35p/min depending on the tariff. You can top up whenever you want and just make/send a chargeable call/text at least once every 6 months.
Most main networks are ashamed to show their exorbitant 'standard' rates on their main PAYG pages and do their best to push you into buying bundles that generally you don't have to buy.0 -
Ah - I tried but couldn't find it on their site...Without buying a bundle you just pay O2's 'standard rates' 25-35p/min depending on the tariff. You can top up whenever you want and just make/send a chargeable call/text at least once every 6 months.

...must try harder!0
