I've followed the MSE on instructions of how to cancel recurring payment.
Can't contact AVast in any way!! Phoned the bank who say they haven't got the facilities to cancel without contacting the company. Best of Luck to them on that. They also can't send a confirmation of our conversation! I told them it was my right but they don't seem to understand! Waiting now to see what happens.

Have you tried the phone number on the Avast website ? It's under "contact us" at the bottom of the home page.

Ring your bank again and tell them that you have withdrawn your mandate to them to pay the payment in question. They might not have good facilities, but if you withdraw your *authorisation* they will have to find a way.

And with avast, login to your online account with them and change/delete your payment details...

They have to or refund any payments they allow to be taken. Insist you talk to a manager or supervisor and tell them that you are giving the legal notice under the payments services regulations 2009 and that the bank will now be liable for any payments the let go.

Tell them that if they refuse or try to deny they have to comply with your request them you will be reporting their breach of the regulations to the FCA and taking them to the finacial ombusman.
